Both speakers and authors exist and are managed in the Vennture media hub, but you may wonder why we need both and what the main difference is between them.
As the media hub includes a variety of posts, it also needs a variety of creators associated with each media item.
As the media hub includes a variety of posts, it also needs a variety of creators associated with each media item.
Authors
Authors are the main creators within the media hub and are used for every media post that is created, e.g. blogs, videos, events and downloads. For podcasts, authors are referred to as hosts. To edit or manage authors, see our guide here.
Usually, authors are people who work within your business and will likely have multiple pieces of content they produce or are associated with on the website. Authors can be connected with consultant profiles within Vennture Recruit so that profile pages on the website can include content produced by that author or person.
Authors will appear at the top of each media item published on your website.
Speakers
Speakers are the secondary creators in the media hub and are usually guest speakers on events or podcasts. These tend to be individuals who will appear on one or a few pieces of content within the media hub but are not the main creators, so they do not have an author profile created. To edit or manage speakers, see our guide here.
Speakers will appear for events and podcasts published on your website as guest speakers below the author, who is displayed as the host of these media items.
