Author
The creator/producer of content within the Vennture Media Hub. Each author will have a profile created in the media hub so that they can be linked with multiple pieces of content.
Anchor Link
A link on a webpage that takes you to a different point further down on the same webpage.
Cached Browser
When your browser is cached, it means that your device has stored previous copies of your website, making it harder to see any updates or changes you have made. To clear your cache, press CTRL + F5 or CTRL + SHIFT + R.
Categories
Used in the Vennture Media Hub to organise media content into groups for users to find relevant information more easily.
CMS
CMS stands for Content Management System and is software that helps users manage their digital content on their website without needing knowledge on code writing. The Vennture CMS is where users can create, edit and manage all static content that appears on their website.
Code View
The code view is a text editor setting that lets users edit their content as raw HTML. The code view can be accessed via any text editor on the platform.
Country Folder
A country folder is a replica of your website that sits on a subdomain or a folder on your main website e.g. www.yourwebsite.com/de This website can be fully translated into local language or can be in the same language as your main website but have localised content on it, tailored specific for your geographical audience. Country folders can help with a localised SEO strategy.
Data Capture Form
A form which a user has to submit data to receive a document e.g. a salary guide or industry report.
Dynamic Content
This is content that is shown on a webpage that has been pulled through from other areas of Vennture e.g. jobs from the Recruit app or blogs from the Media Hub.
Embedded Link
A link that is generated from an external website to show content e.g. a social post, that is hosted elsewhere.
External Page
External pages are a page type within Vennture CMS that are commonly used for cases when you have a button in a module you want to link to an external web page not on the CMS.
Featured
This is a feature for content pieces in the Vennture Media Hub which allows items to appear in the featured section at the top of your media hub on your website, an ideal option for the new hot content on the website for a shorter period of time when new featured content is published.
Global Module
A module which is used on multiple pages across a website with the same information shown in every place. Editing the content in one place will change the content in every use of the global module. These are managed in the global modules area of the Vennture CMS.
Host
The host is the creator of a podcast in the Vennture Media Hub and is pulled from the list of authors in the media hub. They do not need a second profile created to be both a host and an author.
Image Alt Tags
These are brief descriptions of images that appear in HTML code to make images accessible to users who are visually impaired so they can understand the content of a page.
Internal Page
Internal pages are your standard page type within Vennture CMS. Every page that you want to appear on your website should be set to internal.
Live
The Live site is the public version of your website that will appear on Google and other search engines. Any content that is published live will appear on this version of the website for anyone to see.
Media Hub
The Vennture Media Hub allows users to create, edit and manage all content that forms the media hub/resources section of a website. This includes blogs, videos, podcasts, events, downloads and case studies.
Meta Description
A short description, under 150 words, on what a page is about. This is used be Google for SEO purposes to present additional information to users.
Meta Keywords
A list of keywords that provide information about a web page's content for search engines.
Meta Title
A piece of text that summarises the topic of a webpage and appears in a browser tab.
Module
The different blocks that are customisable and configurable are made up of various elements such as text, images or videos. These are combined in different arrangements and layouts to create pages of a website.
No-Link
A no-link page is a page type within Vennture CMS that is used as folders within the CMS to store other pages within itself, usually for organisation.
Recruit
The Vennture Recruit app allows user to control all data around CVs, applications, jobs and consultant profiles from one central place.
Resource Link
This is a URL for a file that is hosted on your website that can be used externally to access the file e.g. an image in an email signature.
Site Variable
A part of your website that requires the same information being set up in multiple places in the back end of the CMS. This is created as a site variable so the information can be easily updated in multiple places.
Speaker
A speaker is a secondary creator of content in the Vennture Media Hub, usually individuals who will appear on one or a few pieces of content but are not the main author of a piece of content. They are displayed for events and podcasts as guest speakers and have profiles created in the media hub so they can appear on multiple pieces of content.
Slug
A unique identifier for an element used in Vennture e.g. an author or tag which is used for filtering data on a website. This will always be lower case with no spaces included.
Staging
The staging environment is a private version of your website used to view changes as if you were viewing the real site. This provides you with the freedom to change modules, update imagery, mess around with the layout etc and preview it before putting it on the Live website.
Static Content
This type of content is shown on a webpage as it has been populated in the CMS.
Sticky
This is a feature for content pieces in the Vennture Media Hub which allows items to 'stick' in the must-read section at the top of your media hub on your website, the ideal option if you want to keep some media items in view for the reader for longer periods of time.
Tags
Used in the Vennture Media hub to organise and group together content by a common theme or subject, and are more granular than categories.
Text Editor
This is a tool within the Vennture CMS that allows users to create and edit content without having to manually edit code.
WEBP Image
This is an image that is in a file format that has been compressed for the web, making images faster to load.
