Authors are used for all content pieces in the media hub. By default, the media hub will sync up all consultants within the recruitment app as authors in the media hub, saving you countless hours that would otherwise be spent creating those profiles manually. For more information on synced authors, see our guide here.
Imported authors from the recruitment app can be identified by a green link icon shown below:
Sometimes, you may want to add another author to your media hub, such as an external user. This guide explains how to do this.
Creating a New Author
Within the 'Authors' Section
Authors are managed in the Media Hub. To add a new author, navigate to Authors in the Vennture Media Hub and click on the Add button at the top right of your screen.
This will then open an 'Add' page ready to be populated with all information for your author in the fields explained below;

First and Last Names: Fill these in as you want them to appear on the website to users
- Job Title: Add in the author's job title
- Email Address: Add in the email address for the author - each email address can only be used once
- Slug: This field is needed as a unique identifier for each author - this can just be their name but must be all lowercase with no spaces included, e.g., johnsmith or firstnamelastname
- Image: Upload the headshot that will appear on any articles written by this author
- Bio: Optional field to add in some background on the author
- Meta Description, etc.: These are optional fields to populate to add meta information for each author
Within a Media Item
If you are already editing a media item in the Media Hub, you are also able to create a new author without leaving the editing window. With your media item open, click the red + icon next to the author's field, fill in the fields presented in the new window, and then click save.
Your new author will be ready to use, appearing at the bottom of the drop-down menu for authors. You can do this for multiple new authors in this window should you wish to.
Deleting an Author
If you want to delete an author from the media hub, you can click the bin icon next to an author in the table. This will only appear for authors who are not synced up with a consultant profile in Vennture Recruit. (to delete these profiles, you'll need to do this within the consultant's area in Vennture Recruit).
This will then allow you to delete an author who is not in use. You may be presented with another pop-up if the author is in use for any media item - they need to be removed as the author first before you can delete them.
To find all content written by a particular author or to make bulk edits to authors for content, you can use the export function to download all content to a CSV, where you can edit any details within multiple content pieces easily, including the author. You then just need to import your updated document, and this will upload any changes you have made. After this, you can then delete the author that is no longer in use.
