If you would prefer to learn about this article through a video guide then please visit: Video: Uploading Documents
The documents area can be found within the Vennture CMS and has the following purposes;
- Storing documents that are used with data capture forms where you might wish the user to download a document in return for providing their information, e.g., a salary guide or an industry report.
- Storing any videos that are being used by modules on your website.
- Storing documents for users to access from your website rather than having them as static pages, e.g., Terms and Conditions or policy documents. These documents can then be downloaded by the user.
To view all the documents currently uploaded to your site, you can navigate to the "Documents" option listed on the left-hand menu within the Vennture CMS:
Uploading A Document:
To upload a document to the CMS, either drag and drop your file into the file drop area.
Or select browse and select your file from your computer's files:
Once selected, the file will automatically upload to the CMS and be ready to be used straight away.
Replacing an existing file:
If you ever find that you need to replace an existing file on the CMS, for example, you update your company resource pack. You will need to rename your new file to the same name as the existing file before uploading. Then select the "Replace this document?" check box shown below and upload your file.
This will automatically replace the existing file with your new one across all modules. (Pages will require a re-publish for the file to update on the staging and live sites)
