As part of our standard web project build process, after the entire population is complete, we lock clients out of the CMS so that we can carry out our Tech SEO checks before launching a new website. This is a comprehensive process that involves a 160-point tech check to ensure every aspect of your site has been thoroughly tested and meets our technical hygiene standards before we launch. This process has been designed to help improve your website's health score, giving you the foundations for success.
Some of the key checks we carry out include:
- Lorem Ipsum Crawl - we crawl the website to ensure there are no elements of placeholder text remaining on the website
- Spelling and Grammar Check - we run a spelling and grammar check on the website and will raise any issues found with you, giving clients the opportunity to correct issues before launch
- Image Optimisation - we run a crawl on the website to flag any overly large images to be compressed so they do not negatively impact page load speeds
- 404 Crawl - we run a crawl on the website for any broken links to be corrected before launch
- Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console - we ensure that access has been granted to all these areas so that we can correctly install tracking of goals and events on the website
- Google My Business - we ensure that all data submitted for a GMB profile is accurate and updated
- Meta Data Check - we check that metadata has been completed for the core pages on the website, optimising where needed (dependent on the package)
- Site Speed and Health Score Checks - we will check the website passes a speed and performance test and provide an Ahrefs Technical SEO Health Score to confirm that the website meets our technical hygiene standards
- Redirects - we will implement redirects from old URLs to new URLs on the website so that user experience is not negatively impacted after the website has been launched.
